It’s been a long road but I’ve finally turned the OASIS prototype into a robust, flexible, and scalable platform called vSpace! vSpace is an experience platform that features 3D video conferencing. It provides virtual spaces for meetings, events, and unique experiences. It works on desktop and mobile browsers so you don’t have to download any apps or purchase any VR hardware.
vSpace has Twitch, Vimeo, and YouTube integrated so you can easily amplify your existing livestreams and content. It also has screen sharing, spatialized audio, worlds within worlds, and a multiverse system that allows you to teleport to parallel universes so you can find your friends or mingle with new people.
vSpace is a collection of features that can be mixed and matched to your choosing. It’s also a blank canvas where you can define the 3D environment and interactions. It isn’t a one size fits all solution but a modular platform that can accommodate unique experiences.

vSpace went through a lot of changes since its OASIS days. For the first few test runs I partnered with a dear friend, and one of my fav DJs, David Hohme. He was already doing frequent livestreams and since he didn’t have to do anything more than put a vSpace link on his stream it was an easy way to amplify his set and give his audience a new experience. Since Twitch chat was also integrated audience members inside vSpace were still able to participate in the chatroom with everyone else watching on the Twitch channel (@davidhohme).
🎨 Prophets over Profits — ARTivist Fundraiser (Vimeo livestream amplification + interactive art gallery)

For the first official vSpace event I partnered with Dani Slocki (www.slowkey.nyc) to turn her annual ARTivist Fundraiser event, Prophets over Profits (POP), into a Virtual Festival + Art Gallery. POP raises funds to help out Brooklyn’s creative community and this year needed it more than ever. This year’s event featured musical artists such as Lion Babe, Sofi Tukker (dj set), Lena Hall, Dai Burger, Kweeng Doll, Pixel the Drag Jester, Kat Cunning, Luvrs, and various art performances and discussions. Around the space was art available for purchase and information about various partners and organizations that are creating a positive impact. In the space I built virtual fireplaces, pools you can hang out in, and an easy way to donate while you explored the world.

vSpace has a handful of spaces already and more on its way! Seeing a video is one thing but it’s something you have to experience for yourself. 🧐 Final Thoughts —
vSpace was really fun to create and I feel like I’m only scratching the surface of whats possible! It had a lot of challenging and interesting problems to solve and it definitely pushed me to utilize everything I’ve learned over the years. I want to continue pushing the boundaries with this platform and dream of building countless worlds and spaces for friends to explore together! Something similar to the OASIS from Ready Player One without the need to invest in additional hardware.
